Phlebotomy is a common invasive procedure in medical practice, exposing healthcare workers to risks associated with blood and body fluids. Inadequate formal training in phlebotomy has resulted in increased numbers of NSIs and poor-quality samples. This course aims to train healthcare workers in safe phlebotomy in Kenya, covering blood collection, infection control, waste management, inventory management, and occupational exposure management. The need for this course was identified by the National Aids and Sexually Transmitted Infections Programme (NASCOP) due to the rapid scale-up of the HIV program and increased patient monitoring.Course Image by freepik
